Sixkiller throws for 308 yards and 5 TDs and Campbell scores 31 straight to ease past Hampton 44-20

HAMPTON, Va. (AP) — Kamden Sixkiller threw for 308 yards and five touchdowns and Campbell scored 31 points in the third quarter to race past Hampton 44-20 on Saturday.

Sixkiller connected with Chinua Ezeigbo for a 34-yard touchdown in the second quarter to tie the game at 13. Then the Camels broke the game open after halftime — with 17 points coming in the final 2:08 of the third quarter aided by the defense recovering a fumble and making an interception.

De’Von Thomas began the third-quarter scoring with a 2-yard touchdown, and he added a 29 receiving touchdown to make it 27-13. Ezeigbo's second catch of the game went for a 64-yard touchdown.

Sixkiller, who has been named the Coastal Athletic Association offensive player of the week twice already this season, was 24 of 31 without an interception and he carried it five times for 73 yards to lead the ground attack for Campbell (4-1, 2-0 Coastal Athletic Association), ranked No. 22 in the Stats Perform poll. Ezeigbo finished with 98 yards. Connor Adair had a 28-yard touchdown catch and Christian Campbell added a 6-yarder late in the third.

Tre’Von Taylor was intercepted twice for Hampton (1-4, 0-2) before finishing 23 of 40 for 259 yards.

Campbell: At North Carolina Central next Saturday.

Hampton: Plays Howard at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. next Saturday.
